LIFE

Bill Dean-Myatt, MPhil., author of 'A Scottish Vernacular Discography, 1888-1960' and 'Beltona. A History and Catalogue.', sent me the following obituary and bibliography:

FRANK ANDREWS was a man with an international reputation, responsible for a great deal of original research. A man whose help and advice was sought by universities, public bodies and others from all over the world. A modest man with nothing to be modest about.
Frank Andrews was a long standing member and patron of the City of London Phonograph and Gramophone Society. Founded in 1919 with Thomas Edison as its first patron this is the oldest Gramophone Society in the World and is also the de facto national society for the United Kingdom.
Its membership is world-wide and its journal "For the Record" is taken by individuals and organisations world-wide, as are its many specialist publications.
